Doug Williams and James “Shack” Harris Expand Black College Football Hall of Fame with Annual HBCU Football Classic Weekend

Tickets on sale now for the 2022 Black College Hall of Fame Classic

August 1, 2022 – Thirteen years after founding the Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF), Doug Williams and James Harris continue expanding the pathways for opportunity and recognition for past, current, and future sports legends. During Labor Day weekend, the 4th Annual Black College Hall of Fame Classic weekend will welcome thousands to Canton, Ohio for a celebration of football and community.

HBCU CLASSIC OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND

This classic HBCU football experience features tailgates, concerts, marching bands, and the main event. The 2022 Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic weekend features a four-day schedule culminating Sunday, September 4 with a showdown between Central State University vs. Winston-Salem State University at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

About the Black College Football Hall of Fame

The BCFHOF was founded in 2009 by two legendary NFL quarterbacks and African American pioneers, James Harris and Doug Williams. There have been 96 Inductees since inception, including Mel Blount, James Harris, Willie Lanier, Art Shell and Doug Williams, who serve as Trustees. Under their leadership, the BCFHOF has continued to grow, providing a meaningful platform to share the history and stories of the greatest HBCU football players, coaches and contributors. As the BCFHOF has now found a permanent home in Canton, Ohio at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, included within the partnership is the Black College Football Hall of Fame Gallery.

Founded in 2020, The Doug Williams Center exists to build an ever-growing network of solutions for diversity and inclusion in collegiate and professional sports.
