Financial Tech Executive John V. Priore joins The Doug Williams Center Advisory Board

Priority Payment Systems Vice Chairman to provide social advancement support alongside Cynthia Marshall, Magic Johnson, and others

GRAMBLING, La – December 23, 2020 – Today, The Doug Williams Center (DWC) announced a new addition to its esteemed Advisory Board – John V. Priore, Priority Payment Systems Vice Chairman of Priority Technology Holdings and career tech industry executive. Priore’s addition to the Board is expected to support the development of digital resources, virtual programming, and more.

“Many aspects of the Center’s short term launch plans require the level of tech industry expertise that Mr. Priore brings to us,” said Brandon A. Logan, Executive Director of the DWC. “His unique insight is the exact ingredient we need to make our digital sports industry support tools a reality.”

The Doug Williams Center was launched in August 2020 in affiliation with Grambling State University to provide academic research and advancement services toward the goal of racial and gender equity solutions in professional and collegiate sports. The DWC announced its Advisory Board in September; a multidisciplinary team of experts, thought leaders, and trailblazers who help navigate the complex relationships of race and politics in sports. The Center provides resources to pertinent partners, such as the NFL, for active advancement in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Priore’s passion for racial equity in sports is a primary driver for his involvement with the Center.

“Race and politics have always played a clear part in sports. Through work at The Doug Williams Center, we have an opportunity to contribute to a future sports world that is equitable for all races,” Priore said. “I’m looking forward to providing sponsorship, business guidance on financial and tech services, and supporting every aspect of progress toward our goal.”

About John V. Priore
John Priore is the co-founder of Priority and served as Chief Executive Officer of Priority from August 2005 until assuming the role of Vice Chairman of the Board in December of 2018. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the payments industry. Prior to founding Priority, he was the Executive Vice President of Financial Systems at Ingenico, and also served in a variety of positions at other firms, including NOVA, First Data and American Express. Mr. Priore is a member of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), a legacy member of the Alpharetta Technology Commission and served on the Board of Directors for the Electronic Transactions Association. His commitment to the industry has helped propel Priority to be a leader in payments technology. John Priore is the brother of Thomas Priore, Priority’s Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman.
